Big AppleFest 2004

Four views of the "Big Apple of Liberty", a terracotta sculpture 3' high, designed to fit inside a 4+' high transparent plexiglass apple.

For "Tiffany Apple," ornamentation molded in bondo was attached to the fiberglass apple, and then painted to look like diamonds.

For "Faberge Apple," relief was modeled on the surfaces with bondo, then painted, and gilded with imitation gold and silver leaf. The two guys behind it were hired to transport the piece back to New York City in a moving van.

The History Channel commissioned their own promotional piece: blocks faced on all sides with imagery from their shows, and letters spelling out HISTORY. This is the same transparent model that was used for the Big Apple of Liberty, above.
